Experience the Refuge at Lyric Farm
Farm Tours & Animal Encounters
Visit a working rescue farm in Massachusetts and meet the animals who call it home. Each tour is guided, personal, and full of opportunities to learn about animal care and sanctuary life.
Fiber Arts & Farm Skills Classes
Learn traditional skills like wool processing, spinning, shearing, crocheting, and more — all taught in a welcoming, beginner-friendly setting right here on the farm.
Community & Off-Site Animal Visits
We bring a few of our calm, social animals to schools, libraries, birthday parties, and local events. These visits are focused on gentle, respectful interaction and education, not entertainment.
School, Scout & Homeschool Field Trips
Hands-on field trips that bring learning to life. Explore animal care, wetland ecology, fiber arts, and forest habitats with guided activities tailored to each group.
Growing up, my friend had a farm and we all had work to do. I never minded it. Spending time brushing the horses were the best. I had animals too growing up and when I saw the post about volunteers I looked into it and found out that she was in my backyard (through the woods). I decided to volunteer because even as an adult I feel a connection with the animals. Michelle and Chris are wonderful and make Lyric Farm worth going back to help. I have had some sad moments at the farm but I think that's what makes me love doing it. Gotta take the good with the bad, and give them love in the end of their lives.

Lyric Farm is where I go to de-stress. The peace and quiet (when the critters aren't being rowdy, at least) let me forget my daily stresses for a time and give back to an institution that actually deserves it. Both the animals and the people of Lyric Farm have given me a sense of home and purpose that I've never felt anywhere else.

As an animal lover, visiting The Refuge at Lyric Farm was pure joy. You can feel how deeply these animals are cared for, and my kids had the best time meeting them all.
